Breakthroughs in gene-based health technologies are astounding. Our ability to heal and create is no longer science fiction, but our new reality. However, these new possibilities bring ethical, legal and social questions that challenge our sense of what 'life' really is.

Genome Atlantic, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Public Affairs, the Johnson Geo Centre and the Province of Newfoundland are pleased to provide a free public viewing of the BBC documentary, "How to Build a Human" followed by a thought-provoking discussion by a panel of health, philosophy and ethics experts featuring:

DR. DARYL PULLMAN, Professor of Medical Ethics, Division of Community Health and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University
DR. KATHLEEN HODGKINSON, Assistant Professor, Clinical Epidemiology, Memorial University
DR. DAVID THOMPSON, Retired Professor, Department of Philosophy, Memorial University.

Monday, Sept. 19th 7:00 pm
Johnson Geo Centre 175 Signal Hill Road
St. John's, Newfoundland
