Craig Thompson

Craig Thompson joined Scotiabank in 1982 and has held a number of increasingly senior positions in International Trade Finance, Risk Adjudication, Branch Management and Commercial Banking while living in three of the four Atlantic Provinces.

Mr. Thompson was appointed Senior Vice President for Scotiabank's Atlantic Region in April 2014. In this position, Mr. Thompson is responsible for the profitable growth of the Bank's personal and small business banking portfolio in Atlantic Canada.

Prior to being named Senior Vice President, Atlantic Region, Mr. Thompson was, most recently, Area Vice president, Commercial Banking for the Atlantic Region from 2008-2014,focused on the delivery of business banking services to large and medium-sized businesses throughout Atlantic Canada. Previously, Mr. Thompson held the roles of Director, Atlantic Credit solutions Group, responsible for the commercial loan portfolio, Director, Commercial Banking for Prince Edward Island and Eastern New Brunswick and Assistant General Manager and Centre manager, Charlottetown Commercial Banking Centre.

Mr. Thompson hails from Riverview, New Brunswick. He holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from Dalhousie University.

In 2013, Mr. Thompson was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service in recognition of his long history of community involvement across the Atlantic Region. He currently sits on the boards of United Way Halifax and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.

Mr. Thompson lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
