Faith-Washing: Championing Spirituality While Morally Disengaging

What are the ethical implications of spirituality or religion being used as marketing tools by individuals and organizations? Do faith-based or faith-friendly businesses result in more ethically or socially responsible behaviors or outcomes? How do individuals and organizations reconcile behaving in ways that contradict the moral and spiritual values they may hold?
